Animus: Dream Plot
If there is a scenario that's not here or if you're interested in one of them, but want to tweak it a bit to better fit the character/situation I am totally open to that! Just let me know and we can do all the crazy dream plotting shenanigans!
Dream One – An early memory
Dream Two – Trisha’s death
Dream Three – Transmutation
Dream Four – Nina
Dream Five – The Ideal and Ultimate Failure
Dream One – An early memory
- In this dream Ed is around 4 or 5 years old. He and his little brother Alphonse are playing out in their front yard with their mother.
- If Ed is approached in this dream he will stop what he’s doing to talk to the character, but he will be extremely distracted and rather disinterested in the conversation. He will frequently look back at his mother with longing and fondness, wanting nothing more than to return to his family to play.
- If asked about his mother, Ed will willingly engage in conversation and unabashedly praise and gush about her. Trisha is the best mommy, ok? Good.
- If asked about his brother, he will willingly engage in conversation and display a great deal of fondness for him, as well as a desire to protect him.
- If asked about his father, the conversation will immediately end Ed will no longer respond to any attempts to speak with him. The dream will end almost instantly after this occurs.
Dream Two – Trisha’s death
- Ed is 5 years old in this dream and his little brother, Al, is 4. They will both be found sitting in front of a headstone that bears the name: “Trisha Elric”.
- If Ed is approached during this dream he will be distant and reluctant to speak to the character.
- If asked about his mother, he will simply say that she died before taking his brothers hand and leaving the graveyard without another word. The dream will end.
- If asked about his brother he will become surly and irritable. It will be clear that these emotions are not directed towards his brother, but at the character who asked. He will display an immense amount of determination to take care of his brother.
- If Ed is asked about what he is feeling he will refuse to answer completely. He will only respond by saying that he’s “Fine” or he will ask “Why the hell do you care?” The dream will end.
- If Ed is asked about his father he will instantly become visibly upset, his voice and body shaking with anger. He will tell the character who asked that his father didn’t bother to show up for his mother’s funeral. This is the only time when Al will speak, placing a hand on his brother’s shoulder and quietly asking to go home. The dream will end.
Dream Three – Transmutation
- In this dream Ed is 11 and his brother is 10. He and Al will be found in the basement. The entire dream will be filled with an ominous sense and the character will experience a feeling of dread throughout it.
- Neither Ed nor his brother will be able to be interacted with.
- The character will watch as Ed and Al attempt human transmutation and will witness the gruesome horror of their failure.
Dream Four – Nina
- Ed is 15. Al is 14 and is now in a suit of armor. The dream will be a series of small events detailing his time with Shou Tucker’s 4 year old daughter Nina.
- Ed can be approached during this time. He will talk to any character who comes along.
- If asked about Nina, Ed will simply grin and he will tell the character a bit about her. Eventually he will show the character a drawing that she did of herself, Ed and Al playing together with Nina’s dog Alexander in her front yard.
- During the next part of the dream the character will be unable to interact with anyone.
- The character will witness the results of Shou Tuckers experiment and its horrifying consequences.
Dream Five – The Ideal and Ultimate Failure
- Ed is somewhere around 16 – 17 years old. In this dream Ed no longer has his automail and Alphonse is back in his own body. They will both be surrounded by friends and Ed will be hand in hand with his childhood friend, Winry Rockbell. A close look at Ed and Winry’s left hands will show them both wearing wedding bands.
- Ed can be approached during this dream and he will gladly talk to the character.
- This dream can be changed in an instant if anything in the dream is being seriously questioned.
- For example: if the character voices incredible doubt that this could be reality or If Ed is reminded of the times he failed to save someone, if he is reminded of his sense of guilt.
- If these conditions are met, the dream will twist into something awful.
- The world around him will vanish, leaving him in a black void.
- Most of his friends will disappear and others will lay unmoving at his feet.
- Al will unravel before his eyes, returning once more to the suit of armor before crying out to him, blaming him for the hell he’s been put through. The light in the eyes of the armor will vanish and will fall to the ground in pieces.
- Winry will be killed by Wrath, running her through with a sword.
- Nina will appear, tugging on his shirt and asking to play before twisting into the chimera her father turned her into, asking him why it hurts.
- He will hear his mother’s voice and a hand will reach out to him, but the hand will be attached to the creature he and Al transmuted when they attempted to bring her back.
- One by one, those left will vanish, the bodies will vanish and Ed will be left entirely alone. He will remain alone until the end of the dream. He will not be able to be approached at this point.
